Dearest readers,
this second issue of the “Kaleidoscope” magazine is in part dedicated to the grand opening of CARMEN WÜRTH FORUM in Künzelsau-Gaisbach, which will be officially inaugurated on the occasion of my beloved wife’s 80th birthday on 18 July 2017.
This convention center and concert hall was designed by David Chipperfield. With a construction timeline of just under two years,
a building measuring 78 m x 82 m x 14 m emerged, containing a chamber music hall with first-class acoustics for 600 guests.
My intention with this investment, and the name it bears, was to express my gratitude to my cherished wife, to whom I have been married for 61 years as of today (2017), for her wonderful devotion. We are both nearing the end of our time on earth and I would like this to serve as a memorial to my dear wife’s name, who put a great deal of time and effort into caring for the disabled over all these decades.
“A matter of personal importance was ensuring that my employees had a high quality of life during their time spent at work.”
Now, the subject of architecture is something that has moved and influenced me throughout my entire life as one of the fine arts. Very early on in my 68 years on the job, a matter of personal importance was ensuring not only that my employees had secure jobs in a safe environment but also that my colleagues had a high quality of life during their time spent at work. Surely, many employees have a higher quality of life at work than they do at home.
Over the course of the years, this has given rise to a wide array of business facilities across the world that are not merely erected as lifeless, rectangular boxes but rather as buildings that are an exemplary reflection of the industrial architecture during that respective era. In most cases, architectural competitions were initiated, with the top experts and professors from architecture faculties rating the contestants.
“Architecture is the most public of the fine arts after all. Everyone can walk by it without having to pay an entrance fee or wait for it to open.”
A model company building is also an expression of the corporate culture it embodies, which in our case is characterized by open- mindedness, tolerance, a certain generosity, and the commitment to communicate our thanks and appreciation to both our customers and the outstanding work of our employees.
CARMEN WÜRTH FORUM lends several new features to Künzelsau and the region of Heilbronn-Franken. Theater seating in the Great Hall offers room for 2,500 visitors. An outdoor area is attached to the forum for open-air concerts with up to 10,000 attendees. Shortly after the grand opening, two large events will take place under the open sky: namely the Cro concert on 22 July and the Sting concert on 23 July 2017.
In the future, CARMEN WÜRTH FORUM will host customer and supplier days alongside in-house trade fairs, expositions, company meetings, international tournaments of the championship Würth Künzelsau fencing club, and even rock and pop concerts. Concerts, primarily with romantic and classical music but also with contemporary music, will be held in the chamber music hall on a regular basis.
CARMEN WÜRTH FORUM is conveniently located with a connection to the A6 highway Heilbronn-Nuremberg; the Kupferzell exit is just 8 kilometers away
.
You, dear readers, know that I still see myself as the company’s first sales representative, with over 72,000 employees today. Therefore, if you or your friends are planning any large events, consider renting CARMEN WÜRTH FORUM.
“All 72,000 employees in the Group know that they are not employed by Würth but rather by our customers.”
In closing, I would like to thank you all, especially our customers and business partners of course, from the bottom of my heart. All 72,000 employees in the Group know that they are not employed by Würth but rather by our customers. If our customers were to decide not to give us any more orders, we would be forced to close up shop and all of our jobs would be eliminated. For this reason, you as a customer and business partner can be certain that we will provide top-quality service. We seek to serve and help, and we strive to earn and strengthen your trust day in, day out so that we can continue working with you for
decades to come.
On that note, I wish you the best of luck.
Yours truly,
Reinhold Würth
